Improving Recurring Appointments at Your Singapore Spa

Boost Recurring Bookings in Your Singapore Beauty Center

Looking to get more recurring appointments at your spa in Singapore?

Simple strategies like easy booking links, loyalty programs, and automatic reminders can make a big difference in encouraging customers to come back.

Let’s explore how these easy changes can help grow your spa business and keep your customers coming back for more!

What are Recurring Appointments/Bookings?

Recurring appointments are regular, repeated appointments that clients schedule, offering spas a steady stream of revenue and building long-term customer loyalty.

This not only improves operational efficiency by helping spas predict revenue and manage staff but also reduces the need to constantly attract new customers.

Customers who book regularly are also more likely to try out additional services, giving you more opportunities for upselling.

Personalized services, such as tracking a client’s progress over multiple visits, further enhance satisfaction and strengthen relationships.

In short, recurring appointments help stabilize income, ease marketing efforts, and build long-term customer relationships, all of which drive consistent growth and success for a spa.

This is especially important for spas in Singapore, which face an increasingly competitive market.

Not only do they compete with other local spas, but they also have to contend with more affordable options in Johor Bahru (JB) – which is just a bridge away.

As a result, recurring appointments are even more crucial for Singaporean spas to stay competitive and thrive.

7+ Effective Strategies to Boost Recurring Appointments for Your Spa in Singapore

Going Digital is the Most Important Factor

If you haven’t already, going digital is by far the most important strategy any spa can use to boost recurring appointments.

Most of the strategies below are only available if you have a digital booking system, so we’d highly recommend getting one first if you don’t already have one.

If you already have an online booking system, feel free to skip to point 2!

Singapore is one of the most digitally-developed countries in the world; therefore, it’s important to have a fast and convenient way for customers to book, and rebook.

Many spas choose a web app for their online booking, as it can be accessed from any device through a browser.

The alternative is a membership app, typically used by larger hotel chains.

We recommend going with the web app option, as it’s more cost-effective and accessible to a wider range of customers.

Membership apps are most beneficial for well-established brands that offer more than just spa services, such as hotels, as mentioned earlier.

Make Rebooking Easy & Give Incentives

Once you’ve gone digital, through a web-app, or if you already have a booking system, you should aim to make rebooking as easy as possible. Here are some options you can consider:

  • Allow Customers to Book Their Next Appointment Before the Current One Ends (you can do it through staff training, or an email notification from your booking system).
  • Give Incentives & Rewards for Rebooking (we’d recommend a voucher for the next visit, a complimentary add-on service, etc.)
  • You can remind your customers to set their next appointment, and give rewards through the use of posters in your premises, ideally in the form of a QR code.
  • Email marketing, push notifications, and SMS are all great ways to encourage recurring bookings.
  • Use a chatbot for bookings and recurring bookings, so customers can book through social media!

Make Booking Links Accessible & Track Data

Making it easy for customers to book with you is one of the best ways to encourage them to come back.

You can do this by adding a simple QR code (like we mentioned earlier), including a call-to-action (CTA) link in your email campaigns, or sharing the link on your social media or Google Business Profile.

Customers love when things are easy, so the less effort they have to put into booking, the more likely they’ll follow through.

We’ve found that pairing booking links with vouchers through a QR code is a great way to encourage both voucher use and repeat appointments.

Before you create your QR code, make sure to track it using a platform like Bitly.

That way, you can see how often the code gets scanned, when it’s redeemed, and how well it performs.

Not sure how to set it up? No worries—here’s a quick guide to walk you through it!

Use a Lead Magnet & Get Your Customers Used to Booking Online

A great way to encourage repeat appointments at your Singapore-based salon is by using a lead magnet to guide customer behavior.

We’ve heard from many of our spa clients that most of their customers prefer booking over the phone.

While that’s convenient for them, it can make it harder for you to upsell or encourage repeat appointments, especially through reminders.

This is where digitization and lead magnets come into play.

A lead magnet is a small reward that encourages customers to sign up and book online, which helps shift their booking habits.

One popular method is offering a digital voucher. When customers book through your app, they get a discount voucher sent to their email.

It’s usually a one-time offer, but you can tweak it however you like.

In Singapore, many of our clients have seen a 60% adoption rate with this strategy, and most of them continue booking through our online platform after the lead magnet campaign.

Create a Subscription Membership Program to Get More Customers Committed

A great way to boost recurring bookings is by offering a subscription or membership program.

This could be a paid plan where customers get a set number of services each month.

For example, your spa might offer 5 sessions for bronze members, 7 for silver, and 9 for gold, with different price points for each.

If you don’t want to charge upfront, you can create a free membership where customers can level up from silver to gold, etc.

This encourages them to book more often in order to reach the next tier. Just make sure the criteria for moving up are tied to the number of appointments booked.

Also, to make the tiers truly appealing, offer great rewards—like exclusive services or discounts. After all, the tiers only work if the rewards are worth it.

A Loyalty Program Is Always Reliable for More Recurring Bookings

A loyalty program is a great way to build a loyal customer base and increase repeat bookings.

There are many types of loyalty programs to choose from, such as points-based, attendance-based, subscription, tiered programs, or even a mix of all of them.

But the main goal is the same: to drive more bookings, boost customer retention, and increase customer lifetime value (how much a customer spends throughout their relationship with your business).

Spas, in particular, tend to benefit most from attendance and subscription programs, as we mentioned earlier.

Since spa visits often involve higher spending, encouraging frequent visits through a loyalty program is especially valuable.

It’s also a great way to upsell with bundle deals and extra services. If you’re curious, check out this article with loyalty program case studies to learn more!

Set Up Automatic Reminders Through Omnichannels

Automatic reminders are a simple but powerful way to encourage repeat bookings for your spa—and it’s something a lot of businesses overlook.

When you pair reminders with an omnichannel approach, you’re really onto something.

An omnichannel approach just means reaching your customers on all the platforms they use, whether that’s email, SMS, messaging apps like WhatsApp or WeChat, social media like Facebook and Instagram, or even physical mail!

Spas, especially in busy places like Singapore, often see customers who only book when they feel they “need” a spa visit.

But by being a little more proactive, you can gently remind these busy customers to book more often.

One way to do this is by using your online booking system to automatically send automatic reminders a week or two after their last appointment.

You can nudge them to schedule their next visit and make booking a regular habit.

Even better, let customers set up recurring appointments, so the system automatically books their next slot and sends reminders as the date gets closer.

Add in a lead magnet and a little FOMO, and you’ve got a recipe for success. We’ve helped our clients boost recurring bookings by up to 40% this way!
